Current Update (Oct/28)

Writer's picture: SchwanemannSchwanemann

I'll preface this by saying that I haven't been on top of my thesis film like I should be. I finished up reorganizing and presenting my previous work from the last three years, however I've been hesitant to start seriously writing the script for my "Milkman" film due to me not knowing how start. I know the basic outline, yet I've never written a silent film with the emphasis being visuals than dialog before.

So what will I do then? Simple: personal homework:

  1. I will watch other's films (may it be USSR films from small studios to fellow animation students)

  2. Study up on script writing and see how others formed theirs for animated films.

  3. start the basic skeleton for my script

  4. add into each section once I find a bridge to slow them together

  5. Review script to see it is easy to digest for viewers and fix whatever needs to be better presented

Once all that is done I'll move to the character design stage as well as work on the assets/background design for the film. During this stage I need to put everything I wish to do on paper and make it a habit than rely on vague thoughts in my mind. I also need to push myself out of the summer mindset and into focusing on my school better. I guess knowing this is my last year us starting to effect me.
